SBS Transit's latest add-on comes with an environmentally friendly Euro IV engine. Each new low-floor single-deck bus is equipped with a wheelchair ramp at the rear door and able to accommodate two passengers in wheelchairs. The first of the 500 such buses with Malaysia's Gemilang bodyworks was deployed on service 100 on 01 Nov 2007. The first Volvo B10M Articulated Bus with Duple Metsec bodywork was put on revenue service on 26 April 1996, and then the longest bus in Asia. The 19m bus can carry 146 passengers. It has 3 doors to facilitate faster boarding and alighting activities. SBS Transit used to operate a fleet of 2 articulated buses, including a Volvo B10MA-60/Duple Metsec (SBS998Y) and Mercedes O405G/Volgren CR221 (SBS999U). Both buses were last deployed on Service 18 plying between Bedok and Tampines. These buses have been sold to New Zealand. REGO: SBS0998Y~SBS0999U (All de-registered)

The Volvo B10M Mk IVs intercooled buses were introduced between 1995 and 2000. The 4th generation Volvo B10M buses were fitted either with Duple Metsec, Alexander Strider, Duple Metsec 3500 or PSV International / Soon Chow bodyworks. These buses are commonly known to local bus fans as Volvo Mark 4. In 1993, Singapore's first 12m Leyland Olympian 3 axle (LO3X) aircon double deckers with Walter Alexander "R" type bodywork was built in UK. The rest of the 199 buses were assembled in Singapore. These buses were the last batch of Leyland buses built in the world as a result of Volvo's acquisition of Leyland. Each LO3X was designed to carry 123 passengers. Till-to-date, most of these 12m LO3Xs together with the Volvo Olympians (VO3Xs) are still serving the public transportation system in Singapore. They are commonly known to Singaporeans as "SUPERBUS". Between 1990 and 1992, 700 Mercedes Benz O405 were introduced to the SBS Transit fleet. Of which, 500 were air-con buses. The buses were either fitted with Duple Metsec or Walter Alexander bodyworks. A total of 200 Walter Alexander bodied Scania N113CRBs were acquired between 1988 and 1990 by SBS (now "SBS Transit"). 150 were non-aircon buses, while the rest were equipped with air-con. The non air-con buses are gradually converted to air-con buses. More recently, SBS0073R's interior and exterior was retro-fitted with new driver compartment design, ticketing machine, seats, exterior grillies etc. REGO: SBS0031L~SBS0080U ; SBS3573U~SBS3722G.
